I was wondering if I could volunteer/help out in Calais for 3 weeks, from the 1st of July to the 21/22nd of July 2019?
I have had volunteering experience (as part of DofE -Duke of Edinburgh) but not like this and would like to expand my volunteering experience.
My older sister has volunteered with you guys a few times, and I would love to!
I am wondering if you have any volunteer spaces available for that time? Or even anytime over summer?
I am interested in volunteering for a couple of months up to mid August this summer. I have been spending a lot of time in West Africa the last few years (so I get by in French). Also in my past I have spent time traveling in Asia from Turkey through to Pakistan). I was recommended to contact you by Ferri Matheeusen (who is an old friend I met in Senegal) who has worked in Calais for many years ( I think with Salam). Please contact me by email if you would be interested and outline the conditions. Thanking you in anticipation.
Hi David, thank you very much for your support, we would love to have you in Calais. Our English website is in desperate need of an update, but you can find all the information about volunteering here in French: http://www.laubergedesmigrants.fr/fr/volontariat/ . I hope this will provide you with all the necessary information, also feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org !
I am student in England looking to volunteer for 4 months, I want to work with refugees but I also want to improve my french too, do you communicate in french or is it mostly English?
The warehouse is pretty bilingual although English is prominent. Some teams speak more French than others. We are definitely looking for bilingual people to help out with some of the tasks!
I’m Yuen and I’m from Spain. I’m a student and I would like to work with you for 4 months. I would like to know if you could have some place for me.
The problem is that I haven’t so much money for stay there so I would like to know what things I have to pay.
I’m looking for an organisation where I only have to pay flights.
Thanks you so much and sorry for my English!
For long-term volunteer, you just have to pay the first month of accommodation (5€ per night, so 150€) and after the accommodation is paid by l’Auberge.
Food is provide at the warehouse. All professional cost on the field is cover buy the organisation.

I would like to visit and to help as I pass through on my pilgrimage from Holy Island to Rome. My ability to help is very small in comparison to your need, but at least I can tell people about you and your work. I speak (good) French and can hopefully help in some small way.
My friend and I would like to volunteer for the next 5 days at the warehouse in Calais. We arrive this evening, do you have any suggestions of where to stay? We are happy sleeping in our car.
Unfortunately we don’t have anymore spaces to accommodate volunteers. All i can suggest you is to look up the youth Hostel http://www.auberge-jeunesse-calais.com/fr/contacter-l-auberge-de-jeunesse-de-calais/ or to book an airbnb.
See you soon,
L’Auberge des Migrants team
Is it possible for donations from UK taxpayers to use the ‘Gift Aid’ facility so you can reclaim tax?
In that case, we would advise you to give to our British partner Help Refugees. They are registered with Gift Fund, and if you mention that the money is for Calais, it will be used exactly as if the money had been given to us directly.
Thank you for your support !
One more question, I’m afraid. Do I come at 09.15 on Sun 7 May to the Warehouse or RCK, & can you give me their addresses, please?
Thank you very much. That is all I need to know.
I’ve been accepted as a volunteer. I ‘m coming to Auberge des Migrantes for one day.
I have some questions. Am I coming to Calais or Dunkirk?
Can I stay in your accommodation? is it camping or in a hostel? Do I need a sleeping bag?
Do you know what work I will be doing?
I understand that I begin at 09.15. When does the day finish?
You’r coming to Calais :)
But we can’t provide accomodation for only 2 days.
You will work with us at the warehouse and at RCK, and the day finish at 5 or 6 pm.
After hearing the awful news about the fire at the Dunkirk refugee camp, I wondered if you know of any way I can help?
I have some friends working for smaller organisations in Dunkirk but they get the impression that it’s going to be the bigger organisations like yourself, dealing with logistics.
I’m happy to go out and help or do something from home. Whatever will be of most use.
And thank you for your support !
